Kent Pugh

James Kent Pugh (Kent) is a Senior Research Associate in the Demographics Research Group. Kent spent eight years at the U.S. Census Bureau as a demographer in the Estimates and Projections Program, with interests and experience in methodological research, migration, and rural communities in the Appalachian region. Kent holds a PhD in Applied Sociology (with a concentration in Demography) and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Louisville, as well as a B.A. in Sociology from Berea College.
