LGAlist Archives Instructions

If you do not yet have a password, and would like to subscribe to the LGAlist, visit http://mail.institute.virginia.edu/mailman/listinfo/lgalist
and scroll down to the section called "Subscribing to LGAlist" and follow the directions listed there.

If you are already subscribed to the LGAlist, but forgot your password or wish to unsubscribe, visit http://mail.institute.virginia.edu/mailman/listinfo/lgalist and scroll down to the section called "LGAlist Subscribers" and type your email address in the box before "Unsubscribe or edit options."

To access the LGAlist archives, visit http://mail.institute.virginia.edu/mailman/listinfo/lgalist, select "LGAlist Archives," then enter your email address and password.

Once you are logged into the Archives, you will see a search facility at the top of the list of the Archives. You can organize your search so that the results are listed in a variety of ways: in alphabetical order, chronologically, and by relevanceCin ascending or descending order. Selecting the SHORT format displays the subject line contents only whereas the LONG format displays the subject line, sender's name, date, previous message subject line, and next message subject line. The Archives are compiled weekly and are searchable by the following methods: (1) alpha order by subject, (2) alpha order by author, (3) date, or (4) thread (a set of e-mails on the Listserve composed of an initial inquiry about a topic and all responses to it). Also, a printable file containing every e-mail for a selected week can be downloaded. This is called a "gzip'd" file. The e-mails in this file are arranged by thread. One final word of advice: When e-mails are selected by "subject," whatever is typed in the subject line will appear. Therefore, it is not advisable for Listserve users to write "Help" in the subject line or to leave it blank.
