Setting Up Bootcamp

  1. Log into your Mac as an administrator.
  2. Open Boot Camp Assistant.
  3. Click "Continue".
  4. Select the second option and click "Continue".
  5. Select how large you would like your windows partition to be. I would recommend at least 25 gigs of hard drive space just for the installation of windows and a few programs. If you plan on using the windows side often, allocate a greater amount of space.
  6. Click "Partition".
  7. Insert your windows install disc.
  8. Do not try to install windows within the Boot Camp Assistant application, reboot your machine, hold down the alt/option key and select the new partition.
  9. Follow standard installation procedure of any Windows machine from here.
  10. Once you have installed windows, refer to this page for information pertaining to installing the correct drivers.
