Off-Site ChronoSync Configuration
Off-Site ChronoSync Configuration
There are two containers that control 10 synchronization scripts. The first container is “All systems to NAS0” and the second is “NAS3”. Both of these scripts need to be set to run on a schedule once a week but should be staggered to avoid network congestion and set to run during low server use hours. These two containers and 10 synchronization documents can be found in the “Off-site Sync” located at /Users/admin/Desktop/ChronoSync Documents.
Steps to turn on ChronoSync:
- Open the “All systems to NAS0” container (or any ChronoSync document).
- Click the “ChronoSync” drop down menu from the tool bar and select “Authenticate”
- Click the “Schedule…” button on the ChronoSync window.
- Verify that “All System Image Backups to NAS0” and “Users + Groups + Raid on DB Backup to Nas3” are checked. Unless settings have been recently changed, there is no need to edit the schedule, but if you wish to verify the times and settings are correct, double click on each scheduled event.
You may now close or hide the ChronoSync windows, just be sure not to close the ChronoSync application as it may cause it to de-authenticate.
For the “All systems to NAS0” to work correctly, each ccps server must image itself weekly, preferably a day or so before it gets pulled by ChronoSync. If the ccps machine has been restarted, open SuperDuper! and if available, open the lock to authenticate SuperDuper! allowing it to access all files. Next, click the “Schedule” button and if a screen drops prompting you to setup a schedule, close it. You should see a scheduled Smart Update that will take place on Thursday, if it is not there, simply create a new one by opening the schedule window again and select every week on Thursday starting at 5:00 PM.
