The Demographics & Workforce Group produces population estimates, including the official estimates of total population for localities, that are used throughout the Commonwealth for decisionmaking and fund allocation. The population estimates are produced annually for each non-census year. The July 1, 2011 estimates are now available. |

| School Enrollment Projections |

Starting in 2012, we will produce school enrollment projections on a contract, customized basis, for school divisions and individual schools. | Population Projections |

**NEW: Projections benchmarked on the 2010 Census are being developed by the Demographics & Workforce Group, under a contract with Virginia Employment Commission, and will be available in early 2013. The projections will include total population for counties, cities, and large towns, as well as by demographic characteristics - age, gender, race and Hispanic origin. National and state projections are produced and distributed by the United States Census Bureau. State and local projections are produced by the Virginia Employment Commission and distributed through the Virginia Workforce Connection website (Click on Labor Market Information. On the next page, click "Demographics" under "Labor Market Analysis" in the left hand column.) |
