Michele Claibourn
Michele Claibourn conducts research and statistical analysis for the University of Virginia Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, Demographics & Workforce Group. Michele has extensive experience in statistical analysis, including econometrics, multilevel modeling, time series analysis, and causal modeling, as well in the analysis of large data, survey methods, and political analysis.
Prior to joining the Weldon Cooper Center, Michele was a professor of political science at the University of Virginia and the University of Oklahoma where she also served as a statistical consultant. She has taught undergraduate classes on research design and graduate courses on probability and statistical theory, regression analysis, time series analysis, maximium likelihood analysis, and multilevel modeling. She has also been an invited instructor at the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research’s Summer Program on Quantitative Methods of Social Research, where she taught multilevel modeling. Her publications include Presidential Campaigns and Presidential Accountability (University of Illinois Press 2011) as well articles and essays in The Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Political Communication, and Political Behavior. Her research, on the impact of electoral campaigns, has been funded by the National Science Foundation.
