Aging
VIRGINIA'S SENIORS range in age from 65 to 100 and older; live in every community in the Commonwealth; and are characterized by wide variations in economic, physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing. Understanding the needs of older Virginians requires knowing more than age alone - and generalizations across the population age 65+ may disguise more pressing needs of the oldest among them. This Stat Chat presents an introductory snapshot of Virginia's senior citizens as a group, currently a population of nearly 900 thousand.
