In order to better serve the data users, we expanded our population estimates by developing the age and sex estimates starting in 2005. For estimates prior to 2005, please check the Census Bureau's estimates web page. Please note that their age and sex total for each locality was summed to the Census Bureau's county estimate.

Building Permits
The building permit files provide a picture of residential construction activity for each county and city in the state by month or year.
School Statistics Forecasts
The Weldon Cooper Center produces annual forecasts of school enrollment for each school division, as well as projections of high school graduates and average daily membership. All of these forecasts are located here.
Population Projections
National and state projections are produced and distributed by the U.S. Census Bureau.
State and local projections are produced by the Virginia Employment Commission and distributed through the Virginia Workforce Connection website (Click on Labor Market Information. On the next page, click "Demographics" under "Labor Market Analysis" in the left hand column.)
