delivering on democracy...
building community, strengthening democratic practices, promoting public dialogue and deliberation and increasing the capacity of citizens to effect positive change

New Civic Leaders Program is civic leadership program
custom designed for citizens of Martinsville and Henry County who want
to work with their neighbors to solve problems in our community. The third class of New Civic Leaders will begin preparing to become the next generation of leaders for our community on September 18, 2009.
The nine-month New Civic Leaders Program combines LeadershipPlenty, Study Circles, LIFO, National Issues Forums training and a "community project practicum" to equip area citizens with the
knowledge, skills, attitudes and relationships to meet the challenges
and address the problems of living, working and governing in
Martinsville-Henry County.
